Bactigras Antiseptic Dressing is a sterile medicated Tulle-Gras dressing composed of Leno Weave Gauze, White Soft Paraffin and Chlorhexidine Acetate 0.5%. The action of chlorhexidine acetate acts against a wide range of gram positive and gram negative bacteria. This dressing is used for prevention of infection in skin loss lesions.
Commonly used of Bactigras Antiseptic Dressing :
- Minor burns and scalds, lacerations, abrasions and other skin loss wounds.
- Donor and recipient graft sites.
- Where the wound is no more than 10% of the body area.
- Where there is a risk of infection.
- On already infected wounds in conjunction with systemic antibiotics.

IFU for Bactigras Antiseptic Dressing:
- Select the correct size bactigras antiseptic dressing and peel open the pouch or tear end from roll pack.
- Using gloves and forceps, remove protector papers.
- Lay over wound in a single layer in direct contact with the wound surface.
- Apply a secondary absorbent dressing if required and secure in place with a dressing retention bandage or dressing fixation sheet.
How to Remove Bactigras antiseptic dressing:
- BACTIGRAS may be left in place when the absorbent secondary dressing is changed.
- The frequency of changing will depend on the clinical circumstances and this can vary from more than once a day to twice per week.
- If the dressing sticks soak it off gently with sterile saline solution
Precautions for Bactigras antiseptic dressing :
- Should not be used if the seal is broken.
- Bactigras antiseptic dressing should be applied directly to the wound surface under sterile conditions using forceps.
- Should be stored under controlled room temperature (<25 degrees Centigrade).
